    Ruben Medina

A native of Delano, California, Ruben took his first dance classes at Precision Dance Center. Later he earned his B.S. in Physics at California State University, Dominguez Hills, where he had several dancing and artistic opportunities under dance director Doris Ressl. One was a solo set on him by Summer Brown, which was accepted into the Gala of the 2013 American College Dance Festival Baja Regional Conference. He studied on a Lou Conte Dance Scholarship at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, under the direction of original founding company member Claire Bataille. Ruben also trained and performed with the Ruth Page Civic Ballet, studying with Victor Alexander Ramirez, Dolores Long, Birute Barodicaite, and Randy Newsom. Ruben is grateful to have been mentored by Birute over the past year, nurtured and pushed to grow as an artist and person. He has had the opportunity to supplement his training with summer intensives at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Hedwig Dances, and Ruth Page Center for the Arts. Ruben is extremely excited to join the Minnesota Ballet as an apprentice!
