Sugar Plum FairSunday November 7, 2010 2 – 4 p.m. Ballet’s Adams Studio 8th floor Board of Trade Building 301 W. First St. Duluth Kick off The Nutcracker season with this wonderful afternoon of savoring desserts from The Exchange, bidding on beautiful ballet items and nutcracker decorations, and enjoying presentations by Creative Dance and Ballet III — VII students. Ballet, shopping, and chocolate—life doesn’t get much better than this. All proceeds benefit financial aid to qualifying students at the School of the Minnesota Ballet. Fifth Annual Celebrity Dance Challenge Thursday, February 10, 2011 7:30 p.m. Fregeau Auditorium, Marshall School 1215 Rice Lake Rd., Duluth Northland celebs pair with Minnesota Ballet company dancers in this for-fun competition that has the whole Twin Ports speculating and the audience voting for the winning couple. Celebs rehearse for weeks their ballroom style from elegant waltz to visceral tango to jumpin’ jive. And while the votes are counted, the Minnesota Ballet presents a lively mini performance.
