Rite of Spring
When the Minnesota Ballet opens its 2018–19 season, don’t miss Robert Gardner’s
vision of Rite of Spring, to Igor Stravinsky’s monumental score, compelling in its
primal force, volatile and convulsive rhythms, and themes of ritual and renewal.
Contrasting the visceral Rite of Spring, Salvatore Aiello’s Senza Fretta (“without
worry”) mirrors life’s joys and simplicities in moves athletic, manic, and comic—
all to music by the Kronos Quartet’s Pieces of Africa and Mai Nozipo and set by
Jerri Kumery, Curator of The Salvatore Aiello Trust. New exciting works by talented
emerging choreographers round out this dynamic evening of dance.
