    Student Summer Showcase

    The School of the Minnesota Ballet showcases its upper-level students as they demonstrate ballet, modern, jazz, tap, musical theater dance. Choreography class students perform their own works-in-progress.

    Guest Choreographer

    Special Work by Guest Master Teacher/
    Choreographer Mario Nugara

    Highlighting the Student Summer Presentation will be a special work for highest-level students by Mario Nugara, artistic director of the City of Angels Ballet in Los Angeles and the California Riverside Ballet. Mr. Nugara trained at Balanchine’s School of American Ballet and danced with the New York City Ballet, Boston Ballet, Texas Ballet Theater, He holds a BFA and MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He was selected as a Fulbright Scholar in 1991, the first ballet dancer awarded that honor, to Copenhagen, Denmark, in conjunction with the Royal Danish Ballet and the University of Copenhagen.

    What a great way to kick off The Nutcracker season
    —ballet, chocolate, and shopping! Presentations by
    School of the Minnesota Ballet students. Delectable
    desserts from The Exchange. Great ballet items
    and nutcracker decorations in the silent auction.
    Proceeds benefit financial aid to the School of the
    Minnesota Ballet.
