Kirsten Rye

Kirsten began studying ballet at a local studio in Hartland, Wisconsin, then began at the School of the Minnesota Ballet at age nine. She has studied in summer programs with the Oklahoma City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet in New York City, the Boston Ballet School, and Ballet by the Beach, in Harwich Port, Massachusetts with Catherine Batcheller. As a student for the Minnesota Ballet, she performed such roles as Clara, Madeleine, Teddy Bear, Geisha dancer, and in the corps de ballet in Allen Fields’ The Nutcracker; and as a Lady of the Court, Courtier in Danse Hongroise, and Petite Cygnet in Robert Gardner’s Swan Lake. This is her second season with Minnesota Ballet. In 2018–19 as a Junior Apprentice, she performed in the corps de ballet as well as Snowflake Soloist and Spanish Doncella in Fields’ The Nutcracker and as a Czárdás and Wedding Corps in Fields’ Coppélia.
