Nutcracker Auditions at Tour Sites:

The Minnesota Ballet casts local students for traditional children’s roles in The Nutcracker.  Audition date and time will be coordinated with the Minnesota Ballet. The Ballet will send a representative to conduct the audition. The presence of the local dance teacher in charge of the rehearsal process between the audition date and the performance is required. The Ballet prefers a two-day process if possible because it can be a long day for both parents and children. If a one-day audition is necessary, a typical single audition day schedule can be:

9 a.m. – noon for the audition

Break for lunch and posting of cast

1 p.m. – 4 p.m. for staging Act I

5 p.m. – 7 p.m. for staging Act II

Actual dates and times will be approved by both the Minnesota Ballet and the presenter before posting to the public.

The Ballet prefers to hold the audition in the theater where the performance will take place if possible. If not, a suitable dance rehearsal space is required with plenty of space for the staging as well as locations for the children. Suitable playback of music is required (CD), as well as a TV and DVD player.[/vc_column_text]
